Back to Active Duty soon.
Question: Well, I just got the phone call I"ve been expecting, since the War in Iraq started. I've been picked up to be recalled to Active duty. I should be receiving a letter in the mail in about 2 weeks that gives more details, and will probably also contain my orders. I will probably be reporting to my new unit sometime in April. They are pulling 25 of us from my Reserve unit. All the names were the new people, that arrived while, or after my unit came off Active duty. We are all 88M's (car drivers). We don't know if we will be going overseas or not, just yet. As soon as I get more info, I'll let y'all know more. Guess I better start looking for a bigger storage unit. And see about finding a new home for 3 cats. This could prove to be very interesting. It may be just what I was looking for too. Once I'm on Active duty, I may be able to extend my active time from 18 months, out past two years, and be able to retire from Active duty. Thus I start collecting the retirement check right then, instead of waiting until I'm 60 to get it. I guess We'll see. Answer: Answer: Thank you for what you do for our country, for us, HeavyHaul. You will be in our thoughts and prayers as you prepare. Max Answer: Heavy...I'm not from your country but I admire you for what you're doing for yours. Answer: I will ditto what the other 2 gentleman said, but will add my thanks and apprecation to this also. You are a proud and unselfish american, thank you Answer: I wish you all the best, and safe journeys no matter where they send you. "Godspeed" and come home safe!! Answer: Take care HeavyHaul. Remember to keep your head down. Back in the 60's and 70's car drivers were 64Bs. Spent my time driving a 5-ton cargo around the jungle. Remember to Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.cartaste.com
