WTF is XM's Problem?
Question: I don't mind that they occassionally change the programming on some of the channels, but I'd kinda like a little forewarning before they do. Last month XM-152 moved Phil Hendrie from the 7-10pm time slot to the 10pm-1am slot, and stopped carrying the show on a one day delay, it's now live. This Monday, they stopped carrying the "Philips Phile" altogether, and moved "The Schnitt Show" into the 4-7pm timeslot. Glenn Beck now has the part of the 7-10pm timeslot, and we can listen to Beck on 152, or switch over to the Headline News channel and listen to him there. BTW - I called RealRadio 104.1 today and spoke to Jana Banana for a moment and she said it wasn't Clear Channel's decision to pull the Phile off of XM, it was XM's decision to drop the Phile. Answer: Must be economic reality, catching up with them. Their stock is in a tailspin, and the changes could be an attempt to reduce churn, and improve customer retention. They could be still in the experimental stages, with the programming, as well. I do miss Drudge, late night on Sunday, when I want to tune out Steve on 173. Answer: Answer: Drudge was moved from 166 to 165. He's still on at the same time Sunday nights. Answer: I get regular updates on specials and programming changes that are in the works in my email from a subscription I opted into online at XM. The notices come from this email address Answer: So would you guys say that XM radio is worth it? I am considering getting it and I was also wondering how you guys have yours set up? Is your regular radio tuned into the XM channel? Answer: Answer: pretty much plug and play. Tune it to an FM frequency, then use the remote to change XM channels. Still too much talking, on music channels, to suite me. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.cartaste.com
