you see the small icons at the top of each heading?
Put your mouse pointer on one and see it change to a "hand" and then it will show you what that icon is for. The one with the "letter" is the "email" one... click on it and you get the address of that person.. then you click on the address itself to open your new send to screen, type your message and "send"...
