Any of you guy's from Oregon remember seeing these chip truc
Question: Check out this old U&R car I came a crossed at the Classic antique cars website.. Seeing this old car brought back memories! You just never know what you will find on this internet thing.. Honestly I do not remember U&R having KW’s (before my time) but I do remember their F-L COE day cabs.. I remember Walsh bought most of the old U&R car’s when U&R went broke.. For those who do not know what I am talking about... U&R was one of many timber related caring companies that went broke during the timber crunch of the 1980’s in the Pacific North West.. This crunch was created by environmental concern’s over the spotted owl, and many other things. Answer: U & R had several KW's based at their Madras yard along with the COE Freightliners. Used to see them in the 70's when I was running to LA each week. Answer: Answer: Interesting, I did not know U&R had a yard in Madras. The only yard I knew of was the yard in White City, Ore. Once I met the son of the guy who started U&R. I remember U&R bought a bunch of FLD120’s when Freightliner first introduced that model.. These new FLD120’s just sat in the yard, I do not think they hardly even used them.. I guess they were sitting their waiting for the lawyers to get the Company dissolved ????
