Oh man The Godfather dies

Question:
Just heard on the radio where Brando died at the age of 80.

Answer:

A great actor. I know that he is best remembered for his role as Don Vito Corleone in "The Godfather" however, in my opinion, his best role was in "On the Waterfront."
"On the Waterfront' was directed by Elia Kazan and released in 1954. Brando played the young thug turned informant, Terry Malloy. (I coulda been a contender). The film co-starred Karl Malden, Rod Steiger and Lee J. Cobb.
Brando was great in "The Godfather" also. His character in "Apocolypse Now" is interesting. His spoof of Vito Corleone in "The Freshman" is humerous.
He made that film in order to raise money to pay for the defense of his son Christian for the murder of his sisters husband (boyfriend???) Dag Drollet, or something like that.
Guys and Dolls did nothing for me.
RIP Don Vito.

Answer:

I guess you young squirts never saw Brando in one of his first movies called
"The Wild Ones".
A motorcycle gang movie with Brando as its leader. Circa 1956
Drove a Harley with somekind of trophy on top of the handlebars. They terrorize a small town.
Any of the "Old Faaats" around here remember it?
I was 16 at the time. Inspired me to get a Harley Model 125. Remember that one? Have owned Harley's ever since. Except for one Honda.

Answer:

S-T-E-L-L-A!!!!!

I wonder if the movie you are thinking of is: (1953)
I've seen almost all of his movies, but it's been awhile since I've seen that one.

Answer:

Lets not forget he was Jor-el, Supermans father.

Answer:

I have "The Wild Ones" (plural) on Tape starring Marlon Brando. At least that's what I wrote on the jacket after taping it off of commercial T.V. Perhaps I labeled it wrong.
Love that movie. Have never seen it in any of the Video Catalogs either. Along with a couple other old favorite "classics" such as "Good Morning Miss Dove" and "Dear Heart." Taped them off of Commercial T.V. years ago.

Answer:

I remember it well. Marlon road a Triumph in the movie,
not a Harley. Lee Marvin was on an Indian. A Harley 125 Hummer was my first scooter too.

Answer:

RAB: I'll have to watch it one more time, all these years I thought it was a Harley....Another memory cell destroyed.....

Answer:

Speaking of memory cells. I remember the "stir" Karl Malden caused
in his role as the Priest in On the Waterfront. He used the word Hell
in a bar scene. Imagine that.

Answer:

Don't forget Brando's role as the Pollack Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire. Great movie.

Answer:

RAB: Yeah, I remember that! At the time, that was equvialent to peeing on the Flag!
However, that last line by Clark Gable "Frankly Scarlett, I don't give a Damn" in "Gone with the Wind" really upset a lot of people at the time.
At first there were several theatres across the country that refused to show the movie.
There was a lot of pressure on Hollywood to cut it out or re-make the scene.
Fortunately the film makers refused.
I have, on occasion, used that line myself in conversations with Dispatchers who expect me to do a multiple pickup and drop load of 1,000 miles in 2 days and have refused to even consider it unless I have an extra day.
