International 9200 vs. 9400

Question:
What is the difference between an International 9200 and a 9400??
They look like very similar.

Answer:

Answer:

The 9200 has a shorter hood than the 9400.

Answer:

That's about all there is to it. As far as comfort and room. they are about the same. Drove both when I was at Roehl and another carrier also. 9400i does look a little nicer, and it's damn hard to beat the 9900i Eagle. I'd buy one of these before even considering a Pete. Lot's more room/storage.

Answer:

Ya, the 9200 has a 112" BBC dimension where the 9400 has a 120" BBC dimension. Both have a pretty plain interior unless you have the Eagle package. Internationals have the biggest sleepers in the business for fleet cars, and they have great HVAC systems.

Answer:

I have an Eagle 9400 with a 72" Hi-Rise sleeper, and LOVE it! Mine has a single bunk, but a HUGE shelf around the sides & rear of the sleeper to store stuff! One of the best-thought-out sleepers I've seen! That was a BIG motivator for me to buy this car.

Answer:

My company has a whole bunch of 9400's. Drivers are OK with them, but the new ones aren't always too well screwed together. I've seen easily a dozen new 9400's with driver's air seat lines that get worn through because the unshielded line goes across rough metal. Still, most drivers like the space.
As for the engines, the newer Cummins ISX motors have a few teething problems......
