Marlin out the rest of the season!
Question: What a shocker when I got home today It don't pay nothin' to lead the first lap Answer: I don't get it! I had just clicked onto NASCAR.com and checked the entry list. When I saw that Jamie McMurray was listed as the driver for the Coors Light Dodge, I went looking for a story as to why. This was not there. It's really too bad though. I have been a fan of Sterling Marlin for some time and have been rooting for him all year. He really was a legitimate contender. I pray for his recovery and hope he will be back at 100% next year. I do wish Jamie McMurray the best of luck. He has a good team to work with. Makes me wonder what Micheal Waltrip knew when he asked McMurray on Monday about his start at Talledega and he knew nothing about it! Answer: I was shocked to read that story to say the least. It's all for the better though. Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission. Answer: Totally NASCAR yesterday, interviewed several drivers about the idea of driving injured. Several said they expect they will see more drivers sitting out races in the future, but others said that sitting out even one race can throw the balance of the entire team off so much that drivers always have and will always be, expected to drive while injured. They are just expected to tough it out. If NASCAR decides to aggressively tackle this problem, me thinks there will be a lot of controversy. I think we might see more drivers start races only to climb out of the car after the first caution. This still allows the driver to keep the points for the race. Any other opinions? « Without respect for basic rights and objectivity, even a democratic government can be oppressive and tyrannical. » Answer: They might not, because a lot agree that isn't the fair was to accumulate points. Marlin discussed that he could pull in after one lap, and he didn't want to do it. If a driver is hurt, he is hurt, he shouldn't put himself in the position to make it worse. I think drivers are noticing that more and more, and in return are taking the right measures in reassuring their safety in the long run. Like Johnny Benson did for many weeks, and Ron Hornaday is doing now. Same with Sterling Marlin. Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission.
