Mud Flaps

Question:
Just was wondering what style mud flaps is used or liked the most, the rubber ones or the harder plastic ones. When they are new and in good shape I like the harder plastic ones the best. But they get damaged real easy. I think the rubber ones do not get damaged so easy but I don't like the way they fly all over in the wind even if you have a weight on the bottom. What do you like the most or have the best luck with?

Answer:

I don't care so much about rubber vs. plastic--I've had good results with both. I'm more concerned with the mudflap mount. I think the coiled 1/4" bar, the type that comes standard on tractors is the best. I've already lost two mudflaps using other types of mounts because I forgot to put the stabilizing plates back on. You don't have this problem with the standard coil type.
White gets dirty easy.

Answer:

I bought a very nice set of rubber Eagle mudflaps for my International, and to preserve them, I glued the back of them to some generic plastic mudflaps and put the chrome weights on. This has worked well, as my 'flaps don't sail, or end up on top of my drive tires! Be safe!

Answer:

I run the plastic ones, have the same set on 3 years now.
I have the flap hangers with the 3 lites on each side
My trick is I keep only 2 bolts in the flaps and I only keep them snug with the nyloc bolts.
If I back over something they will come right off with out taking off the hangers.
I then put them right back on slotted, ripped hole and all. Never had a problem with this set-up
It works for ME
