Answer:

1. Living 12 miles from Greensboro, 15-20 from High Point, abt 20 from Burlington, 20 from Asheboro, we are close to enough places that whatever we need is within reach. We also are in the country out here, although we do have quite a few neighbors (subdivision).
Only bad I can think of is living this close to
Greensboro we have a few neighbors who migrated from there and whose children are "wannabe gangstas". Oh, don't forget the smell of cow manure we sometimes encounter.
2. Hubby recently sold his last "project" 1989 Camaro and we are actually in between owning any vehicles since our "kids" have moved back home. We drive their car, 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. At work Hubby drives a 2000 Freightliner Classic.
3. I have an ancient clone pc for home which I have retained due to its upgradeability. It serves my needs by getting me on the net. It is networked(Cable modem)with my son-in-laws new Compaq so once again why spend money when you can use someone elses? For the road, I have a Dell Latitude laptop that serves the purpose but is becoming "roadworn" after 2-3 yrs. Time for a new one.
4. I enjoy computers and the net, reading, computer games (usually word or solitaire games), and seeing the country with Hubby, also helping Hubby spoil the grandkids. Hubby enjoys seeing the country, audiobooks or having me read to him while he drives, fishing, guns, hunting and spoiling his grandkids.
5. I've been involved with caring since meeting Hubby in 1978. He was caring when I met him, along with his father and uncle. His brother washed cars and did maintenance for the company his Dad drove for. Hubby left caring soon after our meeting to raise a family and returned in 2000.
Hubby was around caring almost all his life. He joined the Army in 1974 and drove cars in there since that's all he ever wanted to do as a young man. He drove from 74-76 in the Army, then did a few other things after getting out since he found it hard to get a driving job (he was only 19). He started driving again in 1978 (turning 21 made it a little easier) and drove until we were expecting our 1st child. He made a brief return to caring in 1985 to help his Dad who was having health problems and was in danger of losing his car. He worked at other things (mostly welding) until his return to caring in 2000.
A mind is a terrible thing to have.

Answer:

1) What are the good and bad things about where you live?
The good: We only have a few day's of really bone chilling cold winter weather. My Family has lived here since 1820. I live in a rural farming town. We have our own grade school. The kids went there for 7 years before being bused 10 miles to another city. Pecans and boiled peanuts. Life is good here.
The bad: In a rural farming town we have cotton gins. There are three gins within 2 miles of my house. They run 24/7 during cotton season. Sometimes the sky is hazy from the dust. Because the town is small, everyone knows you, your moma and your grandma. If you can't remember what you did last weekend all you have to do is ask someone, they can tell you in detail.
2) What type of vehicle(s) do you drive / own?
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 1996 Nissan maxima, 1996 Nissan pick-up car, and a 1991 GEO Storm.
3) What type of computer system do you have?
A step dad special (he's a computer junkie). A Dell Inspiron 7000 lap top hooked up to a Futura monitor, because someone busted the lap top screen. We have a Lexmark printer.
4) what is your favorite hobbys / leisure time activity ? Genealology, grandchildren, and scrapbooking. Watching NASCAR, and baseball. Spending time with family.
5) How long have you been involved with caring? My hubby has been around cars since he was a teenager. He statred out washing cars at Interstate car leasing. He has been driving for 19-20 years now.
Good character is doing the right thing when nobody is looking.
