Hasbro Started The Whole Thing

Question:
If you will notice, Hasbro released G.I. Joe to the public in some years but not every year, like Barbie. It is interesting to note - “2001 - A special series of 4 Pearl Harbor figures are introduced commemorating the 60th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.” - after the 2000 election.
You do the math - Check the website and dates in history – Maybe Hasbro knows something that we don’t -
1964 – Johnson campaigned on a platform of continued social programs, and a limited involvement in Vietnam
G.I. JOE makes his debut as an 11-1/2 inch "doll" for boys with 21 moving parts. He is named Joe after the movie "The Story Of G.I. JOE." G.I. JOE becomes the first boy's "Action Figure" in the world.
1967 – Communist China announces explosion of its first hydrogen bomb (June 17). The US and USSR propose a nuclear nonproliferation treaty. Background: nuclear disarmament
G.I. JOE line expands to include talking figures. Hasbro Canada produces the Canadian Mounties set.
1969 - Richard M. Nixon is inaugurated 37th president of the U.S
G.I. JOE line expands to include all categories of U.S. armed forces and numerous foreign armed forces. Hasbro decides the name "G.I. JOE" will represent not only the action figures, but the entire product line - a brand is born.
1970 - U.S. troops invade Cambodia
Four allies assisting G.I. JOE are introduced. Together they make up the G.I. JOE ADVENTURE TEAM. Flocked hair is introduced.
1974-1975-1976-1977-1978-1982
1983 - Terrorist explosion kills 237 U.S. Marines in Beirut (Oct. 23). U.S. and Caribbean allies invade Grenada
Expansion of G.I. JOE line is one of the most aggressive in toy industry history. Includes introduction of DESTRO - priM G.I. JOE adversary. One of two top selling toys in 1983.
1984-1985-1986-1987-1988-1989-1991-1992-1993 - 2001
2001
A special series of 4 Pearl Harbor figures are introduced commemorating the 60th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The first Hispanic figure is launched earlier in the year. Two Congressional Medal of Honor recipients are celebrated: Roy Benavidez and Audie Murphy. A series of 4 figures are launched with mission specific duties that come with all the gear and accessories to complete two missions with the launch of Double Duty figures. Finally, G.I. JOE is back on TV with two commercials airing in the fall.

Answer:

I just wanted everyone to understand something - just like the post I did about the Terror Alert System -
I am not copying and pasting these from emails. My brain is on overload and I am creating them. This should tell you - my husband is still on the road - my brain is on overload.

Answer:

Is duct tape an accessory on latest models?? I think you better go out on the porch (?in the snow?) and have a cigarette
darla

Answer:

Answer:

You better request a patent on that one -
G. I. Joe with Duct Tape Accessories
or....... that might just be for Ken - the civilian Barbie counterpart.
You see, I would imagine if the U.S. Military cannot do any better than providing our soldiers with duct tape and plastic - I feel like I live in DumDumville America. I betcha, G.I. Joe has a Quick 2000 Mask!
Hey, you guys want any snow?
I still have to go outside to smoke - no matter what the weather. Today, I went to the Post Office in my gown and snow boots! I explained to the younger daughter that I hated to go to the Post Office because everyone stares at me and she said "Gee, Mom, wonder why (you are wearing a gown)! Oh well, Whoopie Doo.......... I just don't give two toots.........
