Question:
I have had enough. The trainer hubby is with-you may recall that we worried he was messing with "substances" previously. Same thing happened again after they spent 24 hours in town on Friday. Throw hubby in night driving and drive like mad 10 on/10 off while he played video games. Dont think he slept for the first 2 days. Now, he is mellow, calm and when he meets his load, headed back to the terminal and, hopefully, hubbys first few days off...the first time home for more than overnight in 4 weeks.
Thats not the problem. Well, it is, but not the reason he is getting lynched by yours truly. While they were in town, I met hubby at the car stop and took this guy over to get his personal car...(Didnt know then it was so he could hide his car at the car stop so he could go meet up with the dispatcher after her hubby-another driver, same company-left town for the weekend.) Their business, not mine, they are adults, so again, still no lynching.
Til today. Now, Im already miffed about the hard-push and lack of teaching from this trainer, as hubby will test for first seat the end of next week and still has TripPaks and lots of other paperwork he hasnt been shown. (Hes partially dsylexic, but he WILL catch on if hes shown..he wont if hes ignored). Still not it.
Tonight I get a call from him, headed to a T/A in Reno to meet their load outta California to take back up north. Finally, he is gonna get a meal, shower, and sleep before he drives late tonight. I can breathe a sigh of relief. Or so I thought. Along the way, trainer wants to stop for a free meal...spaghetti I believe it was...served at the local Brothel. Yes, brothel. Only the meal is free.
Sure its legal in Nevada. Maybe this guy thinks he is single (tho he has a live-in girlfriend who is his team driver as well AND his married dispatcher "friend"), and I know MY husband. I dont worry about his faithfulness. As I would expect, he drives past the exit (he honestly thought the guy was just kidding around). Then, I hear obscenities, anger.. you name it, coming from his trainer. Hubby: "What part of 'hey, dude, I'm married' do you NOT understand. Im tired, hungry and dirty." I think hubby was pretty clear there? (All this, AFTER I bought dinner at the terminal car stop Friday AND gave him a ride to his car.) AND all this goes on while I am on the phone, listening to the whole thing. (Yes, it has a headset & microphone, which picks up everything!)
He honestly expects hubby to turn around, reroute and go BACK for his free meal. And believe me, that is the ONLY thing that is free there. His reason? What ELSE do you think I did between my first wife and my new girlfriend? Well, with all the miles you been pushing hubby, you can probably afford it by now. Hubby was logging 600+ each day.
Oh, I know I could call Ms. Dispatch and fill her in under the guise of some lame excuse of family needs, and I do have his girlfriends' number and could do a few other evil things, but I dont think its the ladies' fault this guy is a... (I better not say or get my behind edited outta here.) Besides, its not THEM I have a problem with nor would it solve a thing. And Ive never been into messing with somebody else's personal business--but then I never had them mess with mine either. Not like this.
My Kentucky blood is boiling. Hubby is stuck in this situation. If he is truly expected to turn it all around so Mr. Party Animal can get his "dinner", I have no qualms that he will simply eat a sandwich and go sleep in the car... of that much I am sure. He's tired as it is and just wanted a hot meal, a shower, and sleep.
But, COME ON!!! I told him I have had enough, he's tried and tried to get this guy to show him what he needed to know, made a little headway after he mellowed out last week, but now this? Inexcusable. He promised me a new trainer on Thursday when they get back. This guy will be getting back with his REGULAR girlfriend, who drives team with him, next week anyway, so the company was swapping him out irregardless. Maybe in his last week he can cram in what he DIDNT learn in the last 4!
Three more days, and he is done with this guy forever. I still want to string him up by his... spaghetti dinner.
I'm sorry this is so long, but I am just at wits end. Is anybody else up for a lynching or am I just over-reacting here?

You might not want to hear this and You may think I am strange.. but on a lighter note the brothels also give free showers and tea or coffee and the showers are clean, in fact cleaner that any car stop I have stopped at..... and you dont have to even speak to the girls I know I have been there, ( and I am way not into girls) its the free part that got me and the over whelming desire to see what a brothel looked like (hey I was a small town girl).
but as for the trainer when your husband gets off that car I would call in and give every chicken coop the description of his car and number and get that man drug tested... I would not even bother the company... as for calling the girl friend and dispatcher ( well the dispatch is a waste of time she is after all cheating with the loser) and rest assured she won't be able to hide it from hubby forever. really no good would really come of calling the girlfriend but I would bet money that she either knows or was someone elses cheating wife... but they always kie to shoot the messenger( just a thought) I am so way glad he his almost done... but you know what, I would make sure there is now way this guy traines again...

This trainer and I use the word lightly should not be a trainer and from what I have heard about him in other post he should not even be aloud on the highways..I would have called saftey on this guy from the begining and not put up with this crap..And if they had not done anything I would have went to another company.

OMG, I can see why you're just a wee bit upset. I think peterbiltbabe hit it dead on the nose. This guy deserves to be pulled into every coop possible until he's caught. Personally, I think I'd call his lady friends as well. At least the girlfriend. She deserves to know the risks she's unknowingly taking. What if he brings home a disease to her? The creep.
As for what he's doing to your husband, this man should NOT be a trainer. A trainer is there to TEACH the trainee, sort of like an apprentice. If he's not helping your husband learn what he didn't learn in school, then he's doing a disservice to your husband. Plus, he's a danger to the motoring public.
Yeah, I think I'd make a few phone calls. You can ALWAYS make it sound like you didn't know you were telling something that wasn't already known by his "friends." And the DOT boys would just LOVE to get ahold of a guy like that.

Most car stops do have free showers if you fuel there, but not all, some with the free showers, will only let you have 1 shower room, unless they are going to shower together, it wont be free for 1 of them.
The "brothels" do give free showers, coffee, and some even feed you. You do NOT have to accept their "services" to get these. Like Peterbuiltbabe, I was curious (and very NOT into girls), so my trainer/now hubby & I stopped to check it out. The one we went to was clean, friendly, and other than the "services" they provide, a nice place.

I've never heard of either, but if the chickens are able to give the trainer a drug test and get him off the road, then I too would call them. As for him being a cheating piece of poo poo, someone should be informed, IMO. My husband's ex-wife cheated on him when they were dating AND after they got married, (she told the me whole story when I was stuck in the car with her for about three hours). Fortunately, he married her because she had his kid and not for love, so he was more than happy to get rid of her when he caught her in bed with another. The point is, if someone had told him about her cheating, he would not have married her in the first place, kid or no kid. Being a lying, deceiving scumbag, she took just about everything from Kenny in the divorce, including the children because my doink of a husband didn't want to ruin her reputation by telling the judge she committed adultery and was physically abusive to him. I personally think the girlfriend should know before she starts to practice walking down the aisle.

I was wondering what company your husband drives for? I'm wanting to find a company where I can live in Nevada. No state taxes. Don't want to live in Florida since it seems it's tough getting decent freight out of Florida, and I'm not particularly fond of living in texas. Any ideas anyone?

Also, Werner has a big main hub (correct me if im wrong, anybody) that runs out of Lincoln, Nebraska or that vicinity.. There is also lots of jobsonline that you can apply for and look at where their terminals may be. Im too new at this, but thought Id help as I can.
My ex drove for National for 3-4 years, his sister and hubby drove for them for many years before that, both busted for drug tests, but at least thats not hubby's problem.
And, yes, he got a new trainer who doesnt LIKE to drive 10 a day unless he HAS to...or 10 EACH unless its HOT HOT HOT freight. (Have to laugh..their last HOT freight as 40,000 lbs of feminine hygene products to New York....there must have been SOME crisis up there with the ladies to need 40,000 lbs!!!)
His new trainer is more his age, has a stripdown car so no goodies, but hubby is collecting things by the week, got his cb, the power mic at MATS, already had a power inverter and is getting an electric cooler the first deal he finds. He is used to the bologna/ham sandwich and fresh fruit kinda thing, not sure about the trainer, but makes it nice when hes a big guy and needs a snack or some food to go with his blood pressure meds.
He did 2 days local and is hauling a$$..I mean freight..out to Laredo as we speak. Then probably back to Michigan or up by Chicago, maybe in this weekend, maybe not til next. BUT,,last 2 weeks and he can test for first seat, so we are gathering up car goodies and comfort items, because no matter what happens, sooner or later he will end up in a car and need this stuff..If not, guess it gets added to our spring yard sale.
Thanks, guys, for listening to me rant and rave. This guy just wasnt made out to train. This next 2 weeks, his new trainer is making him do ALL the paperwork and ALL the city and alley docks. Not because he is lazy, but because THATS just the start of what the first trainer didnt teach him. Seems its company policy to change trainers in the end, you may go through several, just to make sure all the bases are covered. At least he will know how to get paid and route and log and the works....
And lord help his former trainer, the bimbo girlfriend/dispatcher and the rest of them. Drug tips may be anonymous and that wont be the only tip they get..ONCE he gets his own car, I get to clean it up and he gets to install all his gadgets, then he is off and running and I hold down the fort...only a few weeks to go. Please, let this end soon!!!

I am just realizing a good trainer is worth his weight in gold.... My husband has been driving with a trainer since March 4th. The first trainer could hardly speak english and 4 days out was involved in an accident. Turns out is was the best thing for hubby. He sat around for 5 days before he was assigned another trainer and boy! what a difference. The trainer is a really nice guy, lots of experience, non-smoker, has a lot in common with my husband. He set it up so that I can e-mail my husband in the car. He even checks on me to make sure that I am doing OK and has waited in the car twice now so that my husband and I could visit for a few hours.
Boy I would have to worry so much more if I knew that hubby was riding around with some 2-timimg substance abusing jerk.
