question about authority for hauling livestock
Question: I'm helping a friend get his authority. I've dealt only with authority for general commodities in the past. Here is my understanding--please tell me if I am correct. Bingo stamps are required for hauling exempt commodities (i.e., livestock not for show or breed). So, if he is hauling cattle for slaughter, then he would not need regular authority. Is that correct? Also, can you tell me if there's anything else that's different about licensing, registering for livestock transport? Thanks in advance for the help. Answer: The short answer is YES, there are different regs pertaing to hauling livestock, and these are different in just about every state. That should get you some phone numbers to get deeper answers. If you need more, I have a whole database of Nebraska web sites, but this one should be a good starting point for you two...... Answer: Skid Row Joe--thanks for the help! If you have any other wonderful insights about this issue, I'd sure love to hear them! Answer: and there are weird definitions of what's "exempt". Guess they're too close to Wyoming. Anyway, here's a few more links to root around with..... Try this, and if nothing else, contact your local Farm Bureau.... Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.cartaste.com
